Meet our lovely and cheerful Ankush. He is 6 years old and has a sister named Sunaina who is 9 years old.

Ankush and Sunaina lost their father in a road accident almost 4 years ago.

Their mother works in a factory and supports her children as well as her husbands parents who live with them.

The maternal grand parents live in the same slum and help the family with meals as they are unable to sustain themselves.

She is dedicated to providing the best opportunities possible for her children.

This is Rudrakshi. She is 10 years old Rudrakshi lost her mother when she was only 4 years old and is the eldest sister of two siblings.

Her father works as a driver and is very hard working.

After school, she studies and care of her siblings. She assists her father in household chores like cooking and cleaning.

She is also responsible for caring for her ageing grandmother.

She has a lot to deal with at this young age and as a result she has lost her childhood.

Rudrakshi suffers from anxiety and insecurity.

Bulbul and her younger brother live with her mother.

They have an older sister who is married and another older sister who took her own life 4 years ago.

Their father left the family many years ago and returns every few months to harass the family and demands money.

The sister who committed suicide was badly affected by this situation and felt she was an added burden to their mother.

Their mother works as a domestic helper and does her best to provide for her family, but needs help.

Being a single parent she is unable to commit to more hours of work as she needs to care for her children as well.

Meet Sumit, our very kind and loving student at Harmony House.

Sumit is 12 years old and sadly lost his father to covid in May 2021.

Before his father died the family was planning to settle down in their village with his grandparents.

Sadly, Sumit’s fathers family distanced themselves and stopped supporting them.

After 7 difficult months they have returned to Gurgaon. Amit, Sumit’s older brother has had to give up his education and is working as a pantry boy in an automobile showroom in order to support his family.

His mother works as a helper in a school.

They live in a rented room in the slum and Sumit’s family struggles make ends meet with the income they earn.

Sukesh and Kajal are students at Harmony House.

Their father is sick and unable to work. Last month their mother who financially supports the family met with an accident and lost her job.

She is unemployed and works as a daily wage earner with no fixed income.

Suraj is a talented, dedicated and very hard working student. His mother works as domestic helper and his father is a cobbler.

Suraj is committed to his studies and is predicted to secure high grades in his upcoming board exams.

He is willing to do everything he can in order to lift his family out of poverty and provide them a more comfortable life.

Little Dhruv is 4 years old. His father is a driver and mother a house wife. He has a younger sister who is 2 yrs old.

Dhruv has Cerebral Palsy and is unable to stand and walk independently.

He also has delayed speech and no eye contact.

He is currently receiving physiotherapy and speech therapy at Harmony House.

Dhruv’s family desperately needs help to support him and his sister.

Our forever smiling Shivanya is 6 years old and the only child of her parents. Her father is a sales person and mother is a house wife.

She has a hearing impairment and had a Cochlear implanted in 2019.The cochlear needs regular service and the battery needs to be replaced after every 2 yrs.

She receives speech therapy and special education everyday at Harmony House.

she loves drawing and is very cheerful.

Pooja is 11 yrs old and has Cerebral Palsy. Her father is an autorickshaw driver and her mother is a house wife. She has a brother and a sister.

Pooja is unable to sit without support and her speech therapy and physio therapy sessions are provided daily at Harmony House.

A few months ago we were able to provide her with a custom made wheelchair, hand strings and a spine brace.

Her family needs help so they can give her the best possible care and treatment.

Ankita and her sister Teena suffer from dyspepsia and poor eye sight. They have been attending Harmony House since 2018.

Their mother is a single parent and works in a factory doing a 12 hour shift every day.

Nikhil joined us is 2016. He is a brilliant student and very responsible. He lost his mother when he was three years old.

He currently lives with his Aunt. Her family has limited resources to provide for Nikhil as she works as a domestic help and has three sons.

With limited resources, this family barely manages basic essentials.

Dristi is 15 years old and has an elder and younger brother. She is in grade 9.

Her father left the family and has not been in contact, leaving Dristi’s mother to provide for her and her brother.

Drishti’s mother works hard and very long hours to make ends meet but struggles to pay for everyday requirements.
